FOR SALE – OMEGA SEAMASTER AUTOMATIC REF. 2869-2 SC – CIRCA 1956

We are proud to offer this beautiful Omega Seamaster Automatic reference 2869-2 SC from circa 1956, a charming example of Omega’s classic mid century watchmaking. Featuring an elegant stainless steel case, attractive light dial and distinctive applied hour markers, this Seamaster perfectly captures the refined character of Omega’s designs from the 1950s.

The watch is presented in nice overall vintage condition, with visible signs of wear consistent with its age. The approximately 34mm stainless steel case retains its elegant proportions and characteristic shaped lugs, while the original Omega signed crown and correct Seamaster caseback further enhance the classic appearance of the watch.

One of the main highlights is its beautiful light-coloured dial. The dial features a particularly attractive combination of applied hour markers, Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock, and distinctive faceted markers at 3 and 9 o’clock. These almost pyramid shaped markers give the dial considerably more character than a conventional baton layout. The elegant dauphine hands and central seconds hand complete the unmistakably 1950s design.

Inside beats the Omega Calibre 500 automatic movement, with movement number 15,648,342. This early full rotor automatic calibre represents an important generation of Omega movements following the earlier bumper automatics. The watch runs and functions as may reasonably be expected from a vintage mechanical timepiece of this age.

The watch is fitted with an attractive stainless steel beads of rice style bracelet with Omega signed clasp, giving the watch an elegant and period-inspired appearance while making it particularly comfortable and versatile on the wrist.
