FOR SALE – ROLEX DATEJUST REF. 16013 FULL SET – 1980
We are proud to offer this beautiful Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust reference 16013 from 1980, presented in a highly attractive two-tone configuration with a champagne dial, 18k yellow gold fluted bezel and classic two-tone Jubilee bracelet. A particularly well preserved vintage Datejust, offered as a beautiful full set with its original Rolex guarantee paper.
The champagne coloured dial is one of the highlights of this example and remains in very nice overall condition. Its warm sunburst finish is complemented by applied gold coloured hour markers, matching hands and the characteristic date window at 3 o’clock with Cyclops magnification. Together with the yellow gold details, it creates the unmistakable classic two-tone Datejust appearance.
Another strong point of this example is the condition of the 36mm Oyster case. Despite being more than 40 years old, the case remains remarkably sharp with thick and well defined lugs. Many examples from this period have been heavily polished over the decades, making the strong proportions of this particular watch especially attractive.
The watch is fitted with its classic two-tone Rolex Jubilee bracelet, which remains in very nice condition with relatively little stretch. The bracelet has been repinned, helping to restore its structure and ensuring it is ready for continued wear. It also retains a generous bracelet length, making the watch suitable for larger wrists.
Inside is the automatic Rolex movement with quickset date functionality, one of the defining improvements of the reference 16013 generation. The watch has been maintained and is functioning properly.A major advantage of this example is its fullset presentation. The watch is accompanied by its original Rolex guarantee paper, together with its period Rolex presentation box and several original accessories.
