FOR SALE – ROLEX DATEJUST REF. 16014 FACTORY DIAMOND DIAL – 1983
We are proud to offer this beautiful Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust reference 16014 from 1983, featuring a striking black factory set diamond dial, 18k white gold fluted bezel and classic stainless steel Jubilee bracelet. A particularly attractive vintage Datejust, presented in very nice and honest condition with its original purchase invoice and documentation from 1983.
The original black factory diamond dial is undoubtedly the highlight of this example. It features ten factory set diamonds in silver coloured settings, beautifully contrasting against the deep black dial. The warm champagne gold Rolex lettering, gold coloured coronet and matching gold coloured hands create a particularly distinctive appearance. This unusual combination of warm gold details and brilliant diamond hour markers gives the watch an elegant and luxurious character.
The 36mm stainless steel Oyster case remains in very nice and honest condition, retaining beautifully thick and well defined lugs. Especially for a Datejust of more than 40 years old, these strong case proportions are an attractive feature. The case is complemented by the classic 18k white gold fluted bezel. Overall, the watch is a well preserved vintage example, showing normal signs of wear appropriate for its age.
The watch is fitted with a stainless steel Rolex Jubilee bracelet, featuring original Rolex 555 end links and a Rolex 62510H folding clasp with F date code, corresponding to 1981. The bracelet shows some stretch consistent with its age, while retaining its classic appearance.
Inside is the reliable Rolex calibre 3035 automatic movement, featuring the convenient quickset date function.
Another highlight of this example is its very complete set, including the original purchase invoice dated September 26, 1983, together with the accompanying payment receipts and original jeweller documentation. These period documents add an interesting historical element to the watch.
