We are proud to offer this beautiful Rolex Explorer II reference 16570, dating from 1997. Featuring the classic black dial, fixed 24-hour bezel and distinctive red GMT hand, the 16570 has become one of the most recognizable neo-vintage Rolex sports watches and offers an excellent combination of classic proportions and modern everyday usability.

The watch is presented in nice overall condition for its age, showing normal signs of careful wear consistent with a watch from 1997. The stainless steel case retains an attractive overall appearance, while the brushed 24-hour bezel gives the Explorer II its unmistakable tool watch character.

This example is fitted with a later Swiss Made Luminova dial, representing the more modern configuration that followed the earlier tritium dials. The black dial is complemented by white luminous hour markers, Mercedes style hands and the characteristic red 24-hour hand, creating the highly legible and functional layout for which the Explorer II is known.

The watch is fitted with a Rolex Oyster bracelet with folding clasp. The bracelet carries a U code, making it period correct for 1997. Together with the folding clasp, it gives the watch the familiar robust and comfortable feel associated with the neo vintage generation of Rolex sports models.

Powering the watch is Rolex’s automatic GMT movement, allowing the additional red 24-hour hand to be used together with the fixed bezel to display a second time zone. Combined with its sapphire crystal and practical date display with Cyclops magnification, the reference 16570 remains an exceptionally versatile Rolex for everyday wear.

An additional benefit of this example is that the watch has previously undergone Chrono24 Certified authentication.
